Hung out with the Stokes early on Sunday, had to get the requisite shot of Des at the jellyfish

A quick Saturday trip to the zoo. Pictured below is Des wondering, “why are we stopping to stare at a cow? We’re at the zoo, they have penguins, sea turtles, and monkeys here.”

Des petting a snake, cause why not?

Each time is more fun than the last

Zoo, take four: Des and Anne at zoo with aunt Megan, Liam and Viv

True to form

Visiting dad at work

Like the last few Saturdays, the day started out with swimming lessons. Doesn’t look much different, but he’s definitely more into splashing now (a fun trick he’s extended to bath time)

Des stayed awake for most of the zoo!

Okay, a bit of a nap there towards the middle

Petting and feeding the stingrays was certainly the highlight of the day

Down by the petting zoo, we caught several zookeepers taking an 8-month-old cheetah for a walk (not for petting).

Anne, Des and Calvin running the bases at the Rosenblatt memorial.

Instigating his first use of antibacterial soap…

May have been the first time we’ve ever seen the rhinos running
Zoo day with grandma and dad

Started out the morning with some scale exercises

Ready to go out and enjoy this warm January day at the zoo. Des is pumped! (and remained so for the first half)

Awake, front row view with mom

Penguins!

Seriously mesmerized by the fish in the aquarium tunnel

Jellyfish were more interesting than last time

Look closely…

And wish as dad might, no hummingbirds posed with Des for a kodak moment in the Butterfly Pavilion. There’s always next time…

And back to his natural habitat

Des’ first trip to the zoo for Halloween, with his cousins Calvin, Liam, and Genevieve.
Helping acquire candy for his parents…

First time out in a stroller

I know subconsciously, he was really excited to see his first penguin.

Calvin and a giant sea turtle

Always interesting to see the jungle in the dark, bats flying everywhere
