Beating the heat early
Eleanor has a friend over, Bennett
Some strum a guitar, others leverage it to stand up
Des and dad building “highest crane!”
If you love corn on the cob, you must help shuck
Story time, stacked

Walking up to the park with ma and pa
Stroller + warmth =
Sunday morning walk with ma
Just the average weekend lunch on the back porch
Des was a bit lethargic after his nap, which continued well into the evening. After not eating much dinner, he got sick in the bathtub (which in hindsight, not a bad spot)
After getting all cleaned up, he was feeling a bit better. Braveheart joined in for a special, late-evening viewing of Cars 2
Morning at the park before it gets too warm
The girls have lunch with Kali
Baby’s first pool day
After a while, Ella just wanted to watch
He was surprisingly tolerant of the ant traversal, just too fascinated
Des “helping” with block party preparations
Got lucky with this neighborhood
Daredevil in the making.
“Whee!”
Brother playing peekaboo with sister
Not sure what to think of her first taste of peanut butter
Grandma and Eleanor have a tongue-sticking-out contest
Nothing wrong with grandma’s lips, just sputtering back to Ella
“Watch out for bridges and hop-ons. You’re going to get some hop-ons.”
Desmond finding new ways to get stuck under furniture. At least it was less crying this time.
Cousin love
Ella exploring new heights and toys
After brunch, the cousins popped out on the deck to see the chicken’s they could clearly hear while eating
A bit later inside, the front door was heard closing while Liam and Viv were in plain site. About 30 seconds later, it registered with dad’s classroom management spidey-sense that “door + cousins visible = des somewhere unknown.” Scurrying out the front door and jogging right to the backyard, a gate was seen standing open. Des had made a run for it. Pushing further into the backyard, everyone finds that Desmond (on the lamb) had also jailbroken the chickens from their pen. Shown here is Desmond and his accomplices looking up at the onlookers on the deck above- all looking down in astonishment in what he had accomplished in under two minutes.
Desmond, ever the big helper, assisting Liam with corralling the chickens back in the coop
Des temporarily commandeering a game of Stinky Pig
Unaware of the recent shenanigans, Ella hangs out with pa after her nap
All smiles
After nap time and the storm clouds pass, it’s time for a picnic with the Sobczyk’s at Stinson Park. Des and Ernie steer the playground
Abruptly warm, the kids were eager to run free
…and seek out puddles to jump in.
Dotty, Ernie and Des looking down at the alligators resting below (?)
Massive bubbles to chase and pop
…we all fall down
Lots of open space to just run
When two huggers say good-bye…
Eleanor sitting up by herself, seconds before falling backward
After audible, drop-jawed gasping for nearly a full minute upon seeing a “rocket” in real life for the first time, Des was full-tilt ready to go explore the SAC Museum. The green dot below is Des-
Manning the B-52 cockpit
Random visitor: “Oh, you’re just the right height! No ducking or anything”
Eleanor seemed fairly indifferent, but the rest of us were fascinated
He was excited to bang away on a keyboard with risking deleting dad’s hard drive
Lots of running around, but apparently enough energy left to play with the life-sized, foam tinker toys
Looking at dad’s (randomly) favorite airplane as a kid, the SR-71A “Blackbird.” In all honesty though, Des was staring at the escalators.
Pure toddler joy: running through an open field towards a ginormous airplane
After a long recovery nap, Des hops on a squirrel at Bayliss Park
Baby kisses, all bundled up
A testament to the goodness that is Dixie Quicks, Des greets the food being served with, “Brussel sprouts, yum!” Then proceeds to eat mom’s blackened salmon and dad’s gumbo. Toddler approved.
Right. The fork is the best Mousekatool to use!
Sunday morning story time. Frog blanket and moose required.
Said frog blanket in action-
Des before bonking his head and teeth no fewer than three times before he learned to rock gently
Rounding out the unseasonably warm February weekend, it was a great day for flying a kite at Memorial Park
Flying a kite is fun, but Des soon learned that flying a kite while running is the best.
Mom got some good runs in too
While sister didn’t run around, she was more than happy to cuddle in the newfound breeze
Desmond and the Kite squaring off
Brother and sister holding hands, or just Ella grabbing more hands to chew
