On a morning that leaned more summer than spring, it was off to the zoo with our KC friends along side the rest of the tri-state area. Today’s lessons included learning that goats prefer hay over pebbles.

Des cannot get enough of the stingray exhibit. Of course it helps that stingrays also, surprisingly, can’t get enough high fives/fins.

Must have been something important with all that pointing going on

Des woke up with a tremendous amount of energy, so it was a good morning to visit the children’s museum. Here he is coming out of his (hermit) shell

Mothers Day 2016

To give mom some extra rest time, Des and dad set out for a morning adventure. After a stop at Harold’s Koffee House for some brunch to-go, it was further north to Dodge Park. Not even a first bite of donut could tear Des away from the berry and granola pancake.

Lots of pointing, from airplanes and boats to ducks and water.

Earth Day

Places come and go, but a great spot in the neighborhood served its last meal. Mom and dad ate on day one, so it was fitting to attend the last lunch at the French Bulldog, where Des discovered he liked aged cheese.

After some fuzzy recollections, it was determined that last year was indeed skipped due to rain, making this Des’ first Earth Day down at Elmwood Park. Lots of booths, music, people, and of course, dogs to pet

At first impressed with the frisbee, but not keen of letting go

Des isn’t too shabby at throwing bean bags, thanks to the set ma made him

Who doesn’t go to the park to stick twigs and grass down a storm drain?

With all the running and dancing around this afternoon, sometimes you just need a good bench to rest on

Des insisted mom read to him her novel by Thomas Wolfe. Upon his sixth request, she obliged after verifying to him that the book indeed contained no images and nary a single illustration. About a minute or so into the recitation, Des’ interested unexpectedly waned.

His attention soon turned to retrieving his cup without leaving the couch

Easter 2016

It was chilly this morning, so Des’ first Easter egg hunt was held indoors.

…Including a quick demo of his new bubbles. Still struggling with the whole “blowing” thing, he’s usually content to watch.
