A treat for breakfast- chocolate malt-o-meal, although Ella blindly declines before tasting (via her favorite phrase- “no thank you, I do not like that”)
Upon leaving aunt Megan’s house for brother’s haircut, Eleanor had to say good-bye to the potpourri light (?)
Clearly her “happy to be awake after nap” face
Ella walking Max or is Max walking Ella?
It was just barely warm enough to venture downtown for the fireworks display with aunt Megan, Liam and Viv
It was nice to see the familiar Gene Leahy Mall holiday scene one last time before construction begins soon
Pre-game snacks
Eleanor can sense there’s something going on, but she’s still not quite sure what exactly is happening here

A classic Omaha night

“IT SNOW!”
Eleanor getting all bundled up for her first time playing in the snow as a toddler
The family that shovels together…
“COLD!” -Ella, reporting on scene that the snow is also bright
It was enough snow for short legs to need an extra hand
After a while she settle into her own little routine of effectively walking laps around the front yard through the snow. Mom and dad aren’t sure quite what’s going on, but she certainly had a mission in mind
Meanwhile Des is more than busy redistributing snow around the yard
Toddling in a Winter Wonderland
After a few laps with dad, she’s decided to go once solo…
Ella gets in on the clearing snow action

Can you say “birthday envy?”
Aptly making a cake for sister
Exchanging family gifts, Des’ card
Pure joy upon opening her own Margaret Tiger stuffy
Combining two of her current passions- Margaret Tiger and putting any object to sleep with a blanket

“It’s ok, her throat beat is strong!”
What may have been Desmond’s first Snickers bar
But definitely Ella’s first taste of the rainbow
Max being a good sport (the birthday 🐳 shall rise again…)
As dad later described- if you looked at a map of North American butterfly migratory paths, there’d be a big dot on Omaha. Mom doesn’t skimp on the butterflies.
