The fever finally broke, but with topping out at 104.3 the afternoon before, he woke up with his body over-correcting at 96.2. So, stocking cap nap it is.
All warmed up and feeling better, we head over to ma & pa’s house for Thanksgiving.

The cousins playing together at Viv’s birthday celebration
All ready for bed
This weekend we took our annual trip down to Nebraska City for the AppleJack Festival. It’s a tradition we’ve all come to enjoy- a day picking apples, picnicking in the park gazebo, and walking about the sizable classic car show.
Upon receiving his first apple, Des mimicked Viv and just held it to his mouth. Curiosity soon got the best of him and he tried biting in. One taste of the juice and he was hooked.
Mom has eaten an apple or two every day for the better part of her adult life. She can quick draw an apple in just about any situation. Formal attire included.
Second generation apple fanatic.
Goofing around with pa and Viv. Note that when he was thirsty, he wouldn’t give up his apple to drink. “I’ve got two hands, don’t I? I don’t see the problem here.”
Des wearing our combined excitement and relief for deciding to pick apples first this year and beat the crowds a bit.
After the epic picnic spread ma prepared, the cousins scurried off to the playground.
(No pics of Des at car show. He napped and the Mustangs consisted of three ’67s and two Shelby clones. Yawn indeed.)
Getting very good at climbing up the stairs, but pretty much stays at the top
Sometimes we play on the drums, but not actually play them
Goofing with Liam during his birthday lunch
Playing with Liam’s new remote control dinosaur robot (yes, apparently that’s a thing)
Running away from said remote control dinosaur robot. But to be fair, the dinosaur robot clearly appears to be in a predatory stance.
Still going to check it out anyway. And we heard him murmuring what we think he calls “dog”
Started out the day with a bang-up nap
And some egg shaker maraca jamming before heading to ma and pa’s house
Celebrating the day with the cousins
Dancing with pa
Trying watermelon and blueberries for the first time
Reading with pa and Viv
Nap with pa and Liam
Maybe it was the combined friction of corduroys and carpet, but he scooted with his knees a bit
Trying to latch onto ma’s face
