Eleanor enjoying baths more and more these days. Not quite reliable enough at sitting to abandon the baby tub yet.

Upgraded to big brother’s bath towel

She’d prefer something to chew on over stuffed animals, but Des got a kick out of her sitting in his bed

Outfit complete.

Everyone joined dad in the garden prepping the beds for planting soon. Des was distraught over Max stealing his stick, so the plastic fence posts were a new favorite.

Since he could barely walk, deadlifts have been a hobby. The sparkling water keg here is empty, but still sizable.

Many months ago, Des appeared to be done with bubbles. His little toddler OCD was just starting to kick in, and bubbles represented pollution to his boats and assorted bath toys. Pulling the bubble bath out again, you’d think he’d never seen bubbles in the bath before. To put it another way, Des was “back on” bubble baths.

Toe check. Oh good, still there.

On the Sunday morning walk with Ma and mom, Des had the playground all to himself.

Des helping dad till the garden by hand, practicing the two new garden rules: don’t play with the sprinklers, and dirt stays in the beds. Guessing there’ll be a slight learning curve…

A new generation of auto mechanic is born.

While the spark plug change was a bust (ugh, seriously, new cars), Desmond successfully changed his first set of license plates. Each turn back on the socket wrench, he’d say, “ratchet ratchet ratchet”

Not pictured: After dad once said, “be right back, need to get a new tool from the garage,” a bit later Des hopped down from his stool and headed to the garage, though briefly looking back and saying, “be right back, new tool.” He eventually returned with the spray bottle used for fish oil in the garden. This remained his companion tool for the remainder of the job, though fortunately, unused.

Harvest 2016

Knowing we were going out to garden, he insisted on grabbing his bucket from the kitchen. After having watched dad model eating kale, he remembered and wanted in on the action.

Perhaps not totally happy with his adventurous decision, he at least kept it packed back in his cheeks until dinner.

And after visiting the one ripened squash many times over the summer, he was proud to carry it inside. Until he realized it was too heavy (even for him) and swapped dad for his bucket ‘o kale.
