Sometimes they just do the most random, cutest things…
Apparently you have to hold hands when requesting a picture with the most recent lego creation
The treats tonight were very, berry good-
Ella getting in on the water tube action
Sometimes they just do the most random, cutest things…
Apparently you have to hold hands when requesting a picture with the most recent lego creation
The treats tonight were very, berry good-
Ella getting in on the water tube action
Des surveying the accomplishment of putting his new dinosaur puzzle together
Everyone gets in a good Wii run before lunch/nap
A rare evening visit to the Children’s Museum for Star Wars night
But it’s a surprise, as the kids have no idea
But then Ella spotted her friend! Darth Vader and other assorted characters make their way through the parade
“CHEWBACCA!”
Des isn’t sure what to think, but waves reflexively…
“…!!!”
It’s time for pictures afterwards and of course these two pick the “dark side” first
Eleanor was surprisingly composed when holding the hand of her idol (each morning when asked what she dreamed about while she slept and she answers “Darth Vader” every time)
Why waste an opportunity to collect balls?
She ended up being a bit more of a hoarder than actually playing
Des scaling the rock climbing wall with confidence
Playing in the old Gordman’s Zooland animals mom and dad too played on as kids
Des really getting the “hang” of it
As usual, Eleanor is much more interested in gathering and arranging cones than actually kicking the soccer ball 🙂
From a distance Des spots two other characters standing idly by- “DAD! … REY! … KILO REN!!” So of course Des wants to get a picture with his new friends.
Back home for dinner, Des opts for the “combo cookie” treat
Ella’s post-piggy tail hair may or may not resemble a famous clown-
Absolutely no drinking bath water…
Making rug angels, as you do
The future is indeed bright
Ella sensing the instinct to scrub the tub clean
“On your head, for a hat”
Is she gone? Nope, just sleep-wandered to the north end of her crib
“Gimme a break, gimme a break. Break me off a piece of that… fancy feast.” Kit Kat in the tub- one of those rare times where treats and bath time overlap
On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… two stuffies in a huge tree
Eleanor laying down in the bathtub, or as she calls it, “swimming”
Multi-tasking when one parent has a work event, “Sure Ella, you can set up a multi-toy picnic on the questionably clean kitchen floor so dad can attend to cooking dinner”
Eleanor is determined to answer the age-old question- how many peels does it take to get to the edible center of a brussels sprout? She’s no one’s fool, and declines the repeated, shifty advice to simply eat the entire sprout.
Bath drop colors by request- two yellows and one blue
The elusive Ellasaurus and the Dinosaur Scientist (yes he knows what a paleontologist is, but he prefers his alternate title), ready for another year’s Halloween parade
The cutest little pink-chucks-wearing dinosaur you ever did see
Parading
Ma’s handmade costume has a quality last appearance
What started as a joint venture slowly turned into a one-man con job on dad to complete a puzzle for Des’ viewing entertainment
Oasis Hummus – Good to the very last lick
“Can we do bath drops tonight, dad?”
Des and Ella learning that flying kites inside is big trouble
With the shaving creme (foaming bath soap) out of stock, dad got some colored bath drops as a “consolation.” Des wanted to make orange, though one red and one yellow resulted in a light pink.
The next night’s two yellows and one red resulted in a fairly decent orange
