Rainy day reading

April 27th, 2017

Surprised to not be in sandbox, dad found Des hunched down behind the gazebo. What’s better than dirt and sticks?

April 26th, 2017

Eleanor wants to grab all the things, including Des’ legos. This was one of the first instances of Des trying to retrieve a toy from his sister, “no, no, no, no, no. no thank you, sister.” 🙂 Many years more to come…

Getting every last drop of the sorbet, making grandma proud

Eleanor enjoying baths more and more these days. Not quite reliable enough at sitting to abandon the baby tub yet.

Upgraded to big brother’s bath towel

She’d prefer something to chew on over stuffed animals, but Des got a kick out of her sitting in his bed

Outfit complete.

Everyone joined dad in the garden prepping the beds for planting soon. Des was distraught over Max stealing his stick, so the plastic fence posts were a new favorite.

Ella just chilling in the breeze

Since he could barely walk, deadlifts have been a hobby. The sparkling water keg here is empty, but still sizable.

Many months ago, Des appeared to be done with bubbles. His little toddler OCD was just starting to kick in, and bubbles represented pollution to his boats and assorted bath toys. Pulling the bubble bath out again, you’d think he’d never seen bubbles in the bath before. To put it another way, Des was “back on” bubble baths.

Earth Day 2017

When the afternoon’s activities call for starting naptime a bit sooner than usual, it’s best to run out all the energy in the morning. A trip to the children’s museum it was…

Still months away from enjoying the outing herself, Eleanor happily tags along with mom

Depositing at the (First National Bank of Omaha branded children’s exhibit) bank.

After his jailbreak last weekend, Des apparently seeks out the chickens

Plastic balls, vacuums, tubes… concentration.

Driving the train, making the smokestack swirl

Dad was a sucker for activities, getting to ride both the train…

…and the carousel. After briefly surveying the ride options, Des was adamant about sitting on the chicken.

Kiai! Perhaps a little martial artist in the maker? Dad wouldn’t mind.

Photop with (presumably) Salvador, the Crane

April 21st, 2017

While Mom has the girls over before the opera, everyone else goes to the pizza joint up the street for some quality mass-sporting screen time pizza.

While he’s usually out not too long after 8pm, tonight Des was awake until 9:30p. Before dad’s third trip into his room, he’s seen clutching his pooh bear. Apparently this is what toddler insomnia looks like 🙁
