Modeling… or “Hey Des, look at the lamp!”
Tummy on tummy time
Big brother outside stockpiling snowballs down by the garage, only to stomp on the them later
Time to warm up and read some Little Engine
Sister hanging out during bath time
Cousins up at the crack of dawn
Ben Folds performing with the Omaha Symphony brings aunt Kellie, uncle Mike and Calvin back for a visit. The following night everyone convenes at the food hall for a laid-back meal. While parents gather food, the boys browse photos of the recent LEGO exhibit with grandma.
Eleanor stunned (clearly) to see aunt Kellie
Ella continuing her natural pose with Cal and Des
The boys hanging out with ma and pa while mom and dad head out for their first date night since Ella arrived.
As if we couldn’t be more infatuated with her, Ella’s three-month photos were absolutely perfect.
A couple of these expressions really show her relation to Des at the same age:
Right. The fork is the best Mousekatool to use!
Sunday morning story time. Frog blanket and moose required.
Said frog blanket in action-
Des before bonking his head and teeth no fewer than three times before he learned to rock gently
Rounding out the unseasonably warm February weekend, it was a great day for flying a kite at Memorial Park
Flying a kite is fun, but Des soon learned that flying a kite while running is the best.
Mom got some good runs in too
While sister didn’t run around, she was more than happy to cuddle in the newfound breeze
Desmond and the Kite squaring off
Brother and sister holding hands, or just Ella grabbing more hands to chew
Double trouble in the morning, before a long day of adventures
Eleanor hyped for the children’s museum with friends
Desmond trying to cut the pizza with some sort of wheel. He knows that’s why they invented scissors, right?
Showing off his tong skills
11:15am, time for a union break
Sitting in a real-life ambulance, circa 1974
Des doing his best Short Round impression
Sometimes her excitement fades to deep snoring
Desmond and mom painting on the glass
Big brother checking sister’s heartbeat (via the back of her head)
Good dental hygiene is important
After naps, it was the perfect February (?) afternoon to head downtown. Des threw gravel into the lake, though no geese were injured during the making of this photo
With several events in the area, Trini’s was about the shortest wait
If you have to wait somewhere, this is certainly one of dad’s favorite spots
Sitting on the street after dinner, eating macaroons… just like the beat generation
Dad surprised Des in the park at daycare
With a weekend warm spell, Eleanor enjoyed her first evening out on the front porch
She was not certain what to make of the grass, though admittedly it’s more fun when it’s green and soft
But it was getting chilly outside, so time for some quality moose cuddles inside
Desmond has really up’d his peddling game since last fall, must be all the practice with the big kids at daycare
