Desmond is thankful dad had a birthday. That balloon is his new BFF, seen here keeping him company during Saturday morning cartoons.

Desmond’s first movie- Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Secret Ocean. It helps there were a lot of other families and kids at the zoo’s IMAX for a 11:15am showing, but he did really well. Of course the first theatre experience being IMAX-sized, it’s kinda hard not to stare the whole time. Plus, there’s popcorn.
Mom’s last day of maternity leave with this cute face
The 2″ of powder melted today beyond the “clumpable” stage to the “slipping off itself” stage. The result, the saddest mini snowman to date. Desmond, however, was enthralled.
Mom got all the snow gear. Totally prepared for that February blizzard.
Three days and a quarter-cake-eaten later, we lit the candles and sang the song. Des was surprisingly on-key. Also, mom makes the best angel food cake EVER.
For birthday dinner #2, Desmond demonstrates his chopstick skills on a piece of sushi. Everyone also discovered that he Des really loves roe. Like, ate all of dad’s.

For dad’s birthday surprise, mom brought Des and Ella to work. Des was glad to be there, but was really all about the oversized birthday balloon.
