Des’ first Tootsie Pop. Mom is having a hard time explaining that you lick it until you get to the center, then you chew.
Des had to pick up all of the leaves during the walk back from his sister’s well check visit
The running joke has been “Max goes to the dog park to meet other people.” During today’s visit, it was hypothesized that perhaps Des goes to the dog park to play with his own dog? There was some toddler running mixed in as well. Not running towards the other dogs, just running in indeterminate directions towards various trees and sticks, akin to spontaneous dog whims. Fitted right in 🙂
For participating in a UNO study at daycare on child development, Desmond received a copy of Corduroy as well as the matching stuffed bear. Not sure what clicked in his imagination today (baby sister?), but the bear has been actively participating in our activities all evening. Whether it was Des making the bear throw and pick up the bouncy ball outside, or below as Des spontaneously gave the bear a drink of his water-
After his persistent requests, taking a break from the normal toys to getter a better handle on the salad spinner. As you do.
Winding down the evening with Dad and Des reading stories before bed, he began getting the second blanket out. Confused as to why he didn’t want his usual favorite blanket, the following scene unfolded as he got the bear ready for bedtime stories as reading resumed.
As Dad finished tucking him in, Des rearranged the covers so that bear wasn’t just sitting by him, but rather underneath the blankets too.
The surprises each new day brings just never gets old.
Giant ball and bat, raising both toddler and dog heart rates alike
Des is excited to go take a picture of the supermoon again tonight after dinner. He also astutely identifies where the moon is located.
Our little buddha, reading
Des knows what things are sharp. Today her learned what the implication was of something being sharp. In a split second he had picked up the wood chisel dad was using on the door and got a tiny cut on the thumb. We then learned about blood, washing, neosporin and bandaids. Here he is modeling is new “ban-ay.”

That feeling when it’s only 6:30pm, but it’s dark out and you have a sugar high to burn off
Tonight and tomorrow night, a supermoon is scheduled to come within 221,524 miles of the earth. This is the closest it’s been since 1948 and will be until November 25th, 2034… when Desmond is 20 years old!
Grandma was kind enough to load her super telephoto lens and dad was able to set up this shot. When the time was right, Des clicked the remote button, so technically he took this photo:
